Airtel Superstar Awards is a 100% public awards platform where only the viewer determines the final winner. Of late, television has become a second home for Bollywood, with more and more people watching films on television than in cinema halls these days, the Airtel Superstar Awards has used the platform of the Star network with 400 million viewers every week, to generate the votes for the viewer-driven award show. Bollywood's biggest superstars, right from Kareena Kapoor, Shah Rukh to Vidya Balan and Akshay Kumar, were present at the event to witness the public ka final faisla. Hosted by Sonakshi Sinha and Riteish Deshmukh, the show began with Bollywood heartthrobs meeting their fans, performing to their popular numbers and collecting what can be considered the most prestigious award bestowed upon them. If that's not all, Star India will also bring the show to every household in the country by simultaneously casting it on Star One, Star Gold and Star Utsav.
Hold your breath for the ultimate surprise as the King of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan, greets viewers with an exhilarating performance and takes 'one amongst you' on a romantic date with "Dildara" from "Ra.One". Adding to the thrill are the loud cheers, whistles and hoots from the audience, and Vidya's "Ooh La La" latka-jhatkas. Then there is Ajay Devgn, who is not just performing for the first time in an awards show, but also showing off his six-pack abs only on popular demand, followed by a performance by the "Desi Boyz", Akshay Kumar and John Abraham.
The performances take a hilarious turn with Riteish, who takes Marathi lessons from SRK, while SRK makes him dance to the Marathi version of "Chammak Challo". Bebo paid tribute to her grandfather, Raj Kapoor, as she depicted some of the vivacious leading ladies from his time - Nargis, Vyjayantimala, Nutan and Zeenat Amaan.
